Starting January 28, Pal has an art exhibit at the Fringe Salon in NYC at 248 Broome St. To kick it off she performed a set there. This all garnered this wonderful review at Lucid Culture.

Pal will be having a display and sale of selected watercolors at The Living Room, upstairs in Googie's Lounge. The featured works will be priced at $60 each, and include a drink special! At 8 PM, Pal will then perform in the downstairs room with the full band she calls "Her Guys".

** ART SHOW March 2009 **
Pal will be participating in a two person show with fellow artist Ralph Bourque this March at the Front Gallery in New Orleans, LA.

The opening for the month long exhibit is March 14. where Pal will also be performing a set of her songs in the courtyard of the gallery.

Bob Dylan (supposedly) once said to The Band, "why don't we just stop all this and paint?". However, the best anecdote is Dylan asking his art teacher, "how do we get the paint back in the tube?"

We also have a beautiful book of Pal's art available above.

Well known multimedia artist Doug Aitken recently did a show at MOMA in New York called Sleepwalkers. Back in 1994, he did a photo session with Pal for The Requiem Tapes. Pal recently found some of the slides, and we've posted them for everyone, check it out!

People Talk is being featured, January 16th, on Santa Monica College KCRW 's Today's Top Tune!
This is where KCRW selects a special song to feature for a day. They play it on the air every 2 hours, and also post it as a free MP3 download on their website. Each day is a different song. To see more info, go to KCRW's Today's Top Tune Page.

Pal has recently been able to dig into her archives for a lot of wonderful materials that we'll be sharing. This includes a special short story she wrote titled Dish, which you can check out here.

Also we have added an old photo of Pal performing with Jules and Danielle at Sin-e in NYC.

** Happy Holidays! **
Pal has gotten hold of two Slow Children tracks from a single released on Jet Records back in 1979, before they signed with Ensign Records.

One of the tracks, Tear Jerk, is very hard to come by, and was never released on an album. The other, Talk About Horses, is a different recording than was released by Ensign.

There is a picture online of Pal with Jules and Tyler Ramsey relaxing at the recording studio Analog Cabin in Virginia. Perusing the diary on their main page reveals that "We have been getting a ton of work done on Pal Shazar's new record."

No official announcement has come from Pal yet, but definitely check out the picture here.

This past week Nic Harcourt, tastemaker supreme, gave People Talk a spin on his wonderful show Morning Becomes Eclectic. This program is broadcast out of Santa Monica College's KCRW radio station; the very same college where Pal's sister went to school, and the very same college where Pal used to see concerts in the Amphitheatre!

The recording label Funzalo will be officially releasing Pal's newest CD The Morning After on October 24! This release is slightly different from Pal's privately released version, with changed cover art and some corrected album notes. The Funzalo release is available on CDBaby.

Pal is painting again!

While surrounded by the over-stimualtion of city life, Pal knew what Oscar Wilde meant when he said "The worst thing for a poet is a view." But once she and Jules recently moved back to a quieter setting in Virginia, Pal found herself becoming artistically prolific again, musically and graphically. It's been several years since she's done paintings in oil (not since she lived in Woodstock, actually), so she is very happy to share her first two new paintings here!
